Thanks for this. After a while of searching I found this wonderful forrest near Kalø . I got my most beautiful forrest foto. Not as good as yours with the fog. But for me it is my best forrest. Thank you so much.
The minute some posts a photo or video of some starlings, British people rush to the comments to show everyone that they know the word "murmuration".
To solve your depth of field problem (even at max aperture) get yourself a mount to enable you to mount your digital camera on a 4x5 view camera and use the proper front (lens board movements) and get a bonus in sharpness by using a Schneider or Rodenstock lens, well worth the effort. (Although it will slow down your process, but increase your "thinking" about photography.) AND you will be able to really plan your shot as you cannot get a "zoom" lens of this type, just fixed focal length, so planning is essential.
Thank you for the time and cost you put into this wonderful video; the guide and sharing your know-how, invaluable
That was a great tutorial explaining all about how aperture works to everyone. So well done to you Mads. Look forward to seeing your next video.
Only if you have a 1mm lens
For Sony - Sigma 14-24mm f2.8 is a star

New to photography here, So how does one know if a Lens is "Wide -Angle" or Regular Lens?
Yup.
How about using a custom flat frame to subtract circular vignettes? Of course that depends on your software's ability to use flat frames.
3:40 not good at all, as my first tries on shooting with foreground...
3:59 What camera was used for this? It looks fake but real at the same time
Taken on a Sony a7R5 and Tamron 28-200 and with a polarising filter
@@MadsPeterIversen Thank you! What brand did you use for the polarising filter?
That’s such an excellent explanation of the apertures for beginners to advanced. Sometimes we forget to learn about the basics and just let the camera do the work. I didn’t know about the inner vignetting of long lenses. After watching many of your video I’ve started using wider apertures for a more creative image inspired by your blurred poppies at Tuscany… Thanks Mads… from sunny Devon …NOT 😢
I don't own a wide angled zoom lens - I save my money for travelling to beautiful places.
I'm one of those who like to take pictures, I want to take pictures, but I can't compose an interesting photo to save my life. This was helpful and inspirational to me. I will check out your books. Also... was that a Nick Page cameo around the 1:40 mark?
I have been watching your videos for years now and you are my favourite photography RUclipsr. Your style is really amazing.
Thank you so very much! 🙏🙏
Title just Clickbait ?
You can watch the video and find out ;)
Hi, thanks for the video and your ebooks there great. I'm going to Faroe Island in 2025 so you have clarified the type of new tripod I'm going to purchase and the landscape lens type that I need to upgrade. Thanks again. At this stage, I just need a ball head for my Z9, Yes I'm looking at a mirrorless backup which is lighter but versatile.
You are an excellent teacher of photography
I think of it like this. The lower the f stop number, the shorter depth of field. The larger the number f stop number the longer the depth of field. And I generally stay between f/4 and f/11 even with my f/2.8 and f/22 lenses.
Good with the second bonus tip. That explains why the sky can become a bit weird when using ultra-wide and polarizing filter. A thing that not many talks about.
Your pics are so awesome….
Thanks for another excellent video. Great content as usual 👍🏼
Super job as always, buddy looks like you might be joining us on the Canon side of the fence soon🤩
God video! Forklare perfekt og med flere detaljere end andre RUclipsre.
Very nice and interesting video, as always ! Thanks, Mads !
Elsker det her Mads, dette objektiv skal 100p ind i tasken🤩
Sigma does a very sharp 14-24mm dg dn and you could use crop mode to get to 36mm if you need to go that far with just one lens.
Can add 5 cents: if you like cityscapes and timelapses, like I do, the 14(15,16)-35 lens is the only one lens that you need! Love my 15-35 especially in the city.
Excellent - a worthy update and outstanding examples
Are you related to Christoph Waltz?
No 😅
Brilliant! You captured breathtaking Ariel photography. Well done and thank you.
Vignetting is cool, it frames the subject
Canon 50mm f1.2 bokeh heaven, had a colleague with one of these and we shot everything at 1.2, and just picking out details like mushrooms, flowers, it made all shots look amazing, it's why all the pros use full-frame, easier to get a good looking shot...
I occasionally watch videos covering basic material because you can always learn something from a good teacher. Let me just thank you for those efforts and winning my approval with (finally) a correct description of ISO (not being part of any "exposure" triangle, but a factor of brightness post exposure. I hear this misspoken so many times by so many seasoned photographers.
Excellent video. Super tips.
👍
The idea that editing is wrong or "cheating" in digital photography is truly hilariously especially considering that half the terms in photoshop were taken from darkroom techniques. Developing analog was always in a way also editing it, now we are just developing RAW files instead of film.
oh man, when I was first getting into "serious" landscape photography I was shooting everything at f/22 and thought I had bad lenses or that the sensor couldn't resolve the detail...
Just came back after a VERY frustrating trip where nothing went right, I was missing light, getting impatient, and messing up basic shots. I needed this.
Damn, too bad, but better luck next time 🤞
When do people use polarizers most often?
Thank you Mads! Another great educational video 😎!!
Which Grad filter do you use?
Well this was a lot of information 😂
Hi Mads, your pics are just fascinating, unbelievable well done. ❤😊
So I can invest in good computer and generate an AI image… too much of artificial elements in nature photography
You decide that yourself
ND filters can be a huge aid in stopping the light down, yet maintaining a wider aperture ; )
you show us focus bracketing with a sony camera, so it must be a sony a7rV right? So far i know it is the only one which comes with this feature. If you use an older camera you need to focus by hand. My favorite wide angel lens is the sony 12-24 mm 2.8
The 12-24 doesn't take standard filters, which makes it unsuitable for most landscape applications.
@@mdc3227 there are different 150 filter holder for lenses like this, or u can use rear filter.
